David G. Brown received his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and his A.B. degree from Denison University. Brown served as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost from 1970-82. While at Miami he chaired the newly formed University Council which included students, faculty, and administrators, and served as a working group for the more comprehensive University Senate that was chaired by the president.
